Invented in 1938 by Russel Games, GRP or Glass Reinforced Plastic was originally used in boat design and water storage facilities but in recent years it has been developed into a lightweight and durable roofing material.
Glass Reinforced Plastic is manufactured from a high quality polyester resin and hardened with chopped mat glass fibres to form a strong and durable laminate that is capable of being moulded into almost any shape, while still remaining 100% waterproof. GRP Flat roofing is traditionally “wet” laid, this process involves applying liquid resin to a flat timber roof, before manually adding glass reinforcement.
Britelite flat roofing have perfected this method creating a tough and durable flat roof that will outperform and outlast any of their thermoplastic rivals. Britelite have been in the business of transforming homes for more than 45 years, offering such high standards that in 2014 we were granted Which? Magazines Trusted Trade Status Award in recognition of our long standing commitment to quality and customer service.
